Expect to have to switch guns on various occasions to deal with enemies at range and up close. A bunch of tough modifiers, including Match Game, are in play for the mission. Before you go any further, consider your loadout for the mission. When you activate the quest, you're thrown in with little guidance as to where you're supposed to go and what you're supposed to do. Interact with it and you'll start the mission. Immediately inside the hole in the fireplace, look to the left for a sparking fusebox. On the second floor of this blasted-out building, you'll find a fireplace that hides the entrance to the Harbinger mission. Shoot into it, and you'll blow the back out of the fireplace, revealing the path forward. You're looking for a fireplace in the destroyed building. Look for the fireplace in the destroyed building just to the right of the path leading out of the area. Make sure you have Hawkmoon equipped, and head to the east side of the area, into the destroyed building to the right of the path that heads toward Maevic Square. Load into the Trostland transmat zone in the EDZ. The next step of the quest sends you to Earth to find a secret path. Take it, and the mission will direct you to the EDZ-but it won't give you a waypoint to tell you where to go. If you've been keeping up with the Crow's missions in the Season of the Hunt and have already unlocked Hawkmoon, you'll find a new Exotic mission on his menu called Bird of Prey. Visit The Crowįirst, head to the Crow on the Tangled Shore. Here's what you need to know to get started with the Bird of Prey quest and exactly where you need to go to find the Harbinger mission. The Crow has the quest, which gets you started-but like previous weapon missions such as The Whisper and Zero Hour, you won't get waypoints that show you where to go to complete it. To get new versions of Hawkmoon, as well as its Exotic Catalyst, you need to finish a new quest related to the gun called Bird of Prey. There's more to the story with Hawkmoon-this is the only Exotic with which it's possible to get random perk rolls. DeMatteis, author of the classic "Kraven's Last Hunt" returns to the Amazing Spider-Man with Max Fiumara to explore an unknown confrontation between Kraven and Spidey's violent doppelganger KAINE…a battle which promises ramifications on the Grim Hunt itself.Earlier in the current Destiny 2 season, players were able to take on the Exotic weapon quest to earn Hawkmoon, a powerful hand cannon. Stereo headphones are literally less than inch from your ear.ĭon't force your stream to listen to bogus 7.1 with you. If you have one of the 0.1% of games that has a true 7.1 sound option, it is intended to be used with physical speakers, like in a home theater system, not in stereo headphones that have "7.1 virtual surround" printed in the marketing material.ħ.1 and 5.1 are a theater standard, and rely on physical speakers placed AT A DISTANCE to the listener. "a 3d surround sound for stereo headphones." But they be very clear and not say "7.1 surround sound", because it's not a real thing. Many games offer a binaural 3d audio, and are honest about it in the game settings, by describing it as such. Headphones can create a binaural 3d sound via a technique called HRTF. Yes, headphones are marketed as such, but it's a gimmick. There is no such thing as 7.1 or 5.1 surround headphones. Check if Windows reports the audio device as more than 2 channels.Disabling Windows audio enhancementsfor this device, as it could also be the culprit.Checking if the captured audio's meter inside OBS has one bar for each channel (so probably 8 bars in this case and all of them should move according to the game sound). The easiest way I can think of to confirm if OBS is being able to access the audio properly is: In the end, they're just a headband with one speaker covering each ear, which makes it stereo, not surround.īecause of this, depending on where in the signal chain this audio processing that simulates 7.1 is taking place, OBS might not be able to access it, so the audio captured is before the processing that actually makes it sound nice on your headphones. Regardless, because you're mentioning headset I gotta make it clear that most (if not all) "5.1" or "7.1" surround sound headsets are simply stereo headsets with some audio processing software or hardware to make it sound like surround sound. I never used anything that is true surround to test this though. I would assume OBS should work fine with natural 5.1 or 7.1 audio sources, downmixing those to their proper channels in 2.0 (stereo) mode. Truthfully, all classes have some level of viability, and once you get to level 900 and can start acquiring Avatar Skills, the playing field levels substantially. Lots of people ask what character is the best or that they should start out with. This is something which is actively being worked on and high level community members are regularly consulted on. We've spent quite a bit of time trying to balance the classes and boost their power. Selecting a character on a new server can be tricky, especially when considering the amount
They wield the Lore of Slaanesh or the Lore of Shadows, both designed to confuse and demoralize the enemy. In addition to their physical weapons, each of these daemons is an accomplished spellcaster. Any injury one may manage to deliver to these daemons will only elicit moans of pleasure, shudders of delight, and squeals of exhilaration. They do not fear death or pain and thrill at the prospect of torment, their own or another, for they seek sensation just as any of Slaanesh's children. The Keeper of Secrets is not only sadistic, but masochistic. They enjoy the sensation of talon on bone, of organs quivering against their pincers, and the pitch of a dying man's last scream. Many simply sit, stupefied, as the Keeper of Secrets toys with them before finally ripping them to pieces. Indeed, such is the glamour of the daemon that few mortals have even the will to raise a blade to them in defense. Even a mortal in full plate armor is nothing to this creature, for it's pincers flense through metal as if it were wet paper. With exquisite precision can it slice a man apart. Īrmed with catching claws and a pair of deadly pincers, the Keeper of Secret's lithe form belies the damage it can inflict. They push both their followers and their foes to the absolute highs and lows of physical and emotional sensation, sating both their own and their master's desires for these deadly extremes. A Keeper of Secrets delights in the pain and suffering he is aroused by the doom and the torment it visits or finds in others. They are beautiful and disgusting in equal measure, transfixing their prey with their impossibly fluid grace and the aura of sheer domination that emanates from their being. However, most Keepers of Secrets are many-limbed and their eyes shine like polished jewels. It is said that due to this, no two Keepers look alike with some appearing almost humanoid in the face while others appear as beasts or monsters far removed from any humanity. Keepers are perhaps the most physically varied of the daemons, each formed from Slaanesh's own hand, their forms reflecting his muse, his mood, and his interest, all things that are very changeable. Portrait of an Exalted Keeper of Secrets. ~ Liber Chaotica Volume 2 on the Keepers of Secrets He moves with such grace, his actions so measured and sensual, yet he is deadly indeed! See him there! Many-limbed and jeweled eyed. Those who survive the daemon's coming weep, for never again will they come so close to perfection. The painter paints with his own blood, the singer claws at her imperfect throat and chokes on her own melody, emotions run hot and entire communities are consumed by debauchery of the darkest kind. However, a Slayer of Slaanesh is a beast of excess just as much as any of his sisters and as he comes closer, artistic mastery becomes outright madness. What they create is far beyond their skill, the mediocre fashioning masterpieces in the midst of the Keeper's aura. Those given to the creative arts are particularly affected, taken by sudden bursts of skill and inspiration. An unclean trembling takes to the air, affecting everything and everyone. Animals agitate, the earth itself spews forth sweet water from deep beneath the soil, trees creak and wood warps. When they emerge into the material world, it heaves and expulses at their coming. Distinct from the Lesser Daemons of Slaanesh, who only occasionally partake in death-dealing and are much more given to a wide range of artistic expressions and sensation, the Keeper of Secrets is specifically formed and deployed for violence. They are so named for their purported ability to hear anything said anywhere, thus making them the Keepers of Secrets. Slaanesh is subtle, as are his creations, but when all other avenues to achieving a desired goal have failed and bloodshed remains the only option, it is these grotesque beasts that the Dark Prince sends to do his bidding. Unlike bloody-minded Kharneth, it is not the way of the Prince of Pleasure to resort first to violence. Her ring-tone on his phone is "I Love It (I Don't Care)," which always goes off just as he's about the rip a guy's armpit hair off with duct tape. "Dad" keeps trying to get his rebellious teen to ride this cool purple bike he brought her. McG ("Charlie's Angels," "We are Marshall") stamps his signature on Besson's Euro-action vision with running gags. "You might want to take something for that cough. The girl doesn't know what Dad does for a living, or that he's dying. And that could mean more time with his estranged wife (Connie Nielsen) and the daughter he barely knows, played by "True Grit" teen Hailee Steinfeld. The carrot? She has an experimental drug that might give Ethan longer to live. But his new control agent, a vamp named ViVi and played to the stiletto-heeled hilt by Amber Heard, wants him to finish one last massacre - taking out a nuclear arms dealer and his associates in the City of Light. Again, this is a very disjointed movie given to some weird "what movie are we in now?" tangents.Besson, who morphed into a producer after "The Professional" and before "The Transporter," gives Costner the full Liam Neeson in "Taken" treatment, cashing in on a career of cool in a movie that moves almost fast enough to keep us from noticing how scruffy, discomfiting and absurdly over-the-top the whole thing is.Ĭostner is Ethan, a veteran C.I.A. There's some ethnic humor comic relief characters, plus a rather bizarre subplot involving a family of African immigrants squatting in Ethan's Paris apartment. The action storyline is woefully generic, grinding to a halt in the scenes that involve bad TV episode-worthy chatter about dirty bombs and feature cartoony, one-dimensional Eurotrash baddies dubbed The Wolf and The Albino. Nielsen has the least rewarding role of the family members the story never quite gets a bead on whether her character wants to be back with Ethan or not. He gets solid assistance from Steinfeld, who manages to not make her teen character as grating or cliche as the script could have taken her. You can see he's invested in this, formulaic plot and cheesy moments and all, and sells every moment of it with sincerity. The movie rests on the shoulders of Costner who carries it with gruff, old school, and all-American charm. Instead, we get a very confusing pseudo-femme fatale who ultimately doesn't pose much of a threat to either the hero or the villains. Is she someone who only comes alive when she's in the field? Is she someone whose only idea of field work comes from the movies she's seen? Is she living out some sort of fantasy then? We've no idea, but that idea would've been worth exploring (even if it belongs in a different film). There's nothing colorful about her, but when she's out in the field she's suddenly wearing dramatic wigs and outfits and driving fast. There's an interesting idea to her character established at the very start where we see her as a pretty ordinary CIA headquarters worker. Amber Heard walked in from some other film entirely, giving a very broad, vampy performance as Vivi, who dresses like she might be doing Mia Wallace or La Femme Nikita cosplay at a few points. It's trying to be a melodramatic and occasionally cheesy father-daughter (and estranged husband-wife) tale, a Taken/Bourne-style gritty action thriller, and a quirky '90s-style action comedy but only with intermittently effective results. Chases, shootouts, and brawls ensue even as Ethan tries to get to know the daughter his work's kept him away from all these years, a young woman who also doesn't know what her father really does for a living, Director McG (Charlie's Angels, Terminator Salvation) stages some decent action set-pieces and goes for a moody '70s vibe in some areas, but the movie's tone and story are jarringly disjointed. Ethan thinks he's now deactivated due to his health issues, but his contact in the field - the very out-there femme fatale Vivi (Amber Heard) - makes him the proverbial offer he can't refuse. Ethan's estranged wife Tina (Connie Nielsen) and teenage daughter Zooey (Hailee Steinfeld) live in Paris and, wouldn't you know it, his mission also just so happens to take place there, too. And the story takes place in a city morgue, that just adds so much to the setting, and that was really a nice touch. And speaking of gore, then there were actually some nice enough scenes with blood and injuries in "Seance". "Seance" is well worth a watch if you like movies that have a brooding atmosphere and builds up subtle terror, instead of being all gory and trying to be as brutal as possible. "Seance" is a toned down version of "The Exorcist" and it would appeal to today's audience, and perhaps even instill a curiosity to further explore the market for possession-style movies and return to the 'classics'. And also, a cool touch to the possession would have been if the possessed individual spoke with those voices simultaneously. One thing that I didn't understand about the movie was if the entity that was called forth had been waiting 200 years for a mortal vessel to possess, why did it speak 21st century American English and not 19th century American English? If they had kept it that way, the movie would have had so much more credibility. Their performances were really great, and came off really believable. The people cast for the movie did good enough jobs, two people stand out and carries the movie entirely that being Bobby Campo (playing Joey) and Nazneen Contractor (playing Eva). But hey, dealing with evil presences, I suppose that is what people think they need to turn to. Personally, I found there was a little too much Christian propaganda in the movie. Instead, it is the type of movie that builds on brooding atmosphere and subtle terror. Now, don't expect to be scared, because it is not that kind of horror movie. The storyline was compelling and it was good at building up suspense and thrills. After a loudmouth college punk singer accuses an amateur medium of being a fake, four college students break into the city morgue and video themselves. Something goes awry and something dark is called forth. "Seance" is about four young people going to a city morgue, where one of them works as a security guard, to have a seance (hence the name of the movie) in order to call up the spirit of the dead. Sure it was not a million dollar Hollywood movie, but still it was to the point and it had a good enough story to tell. I don't understand why it got so bad reviews, because I didn't find the movie that bad. Initially I have to say that having read some review for this movie, I was preparing myself for a boring movie, but still I am not really one to turn off movies unless they are beyond boring, and I did find the plot of the story interesting, so despite the bad reviews, I sat down to watch "Seance". We can hardly think of more pleasant ways of hanging out with your football club. When fatigue or hunger strikes, you can just channel the calm you practiced during the relaxed game-play and switch to a less ardent card or board game (perhaps even the ones based on the Civilization game). When you’re tired to play it, you can keep the feeling by engaging in a round of the Civil War drinking game while at a beer with your buddies. You can explore the world at your own pace and finish the game in a week or more there’s no gain in hurrying. There is a score and a finish line to the story, but it’s not the main focus of the Civilization game: you don’t have to survive the longest at great strain or beat your enemies in a flash. You are not bullied by the score and the pressure of achievement. You could even play it on an Android system and it would still run smoothly, we bet. It’s not a highly advanced game, but the resolution and the 360 camera feel and movement of this virtual world feel just right.Indeed, a smart game like this can teach you a lot about how a revolution or new rights are fought for, about the exploration of time and space and how it can win wars, the danger or gains of breaking the rules and much more. No need to get bored with Jeopardy when you have such a cool game about the Civil War and its generals, about prehistoric times, about how to build an advanced empire by investing in your research and engineering facilities and so on. We like all the trivia facts about history you can learn after you’ve played it a while. What we love most about the Civilization game We do like a similar game ideal for kids, namely the American Civil War Gettysburg game set during the 1863 event (which you can try online or download in full here). There are other similar civil war games popular with some members of the gaming community, such as the Civil War Surgery Game, the Oregon Civil War Game or the Robert E Lee General War Game, but those don’t compare with the Civilization game. It starts in the year 4000 BC, but its more recent expansions are set around newer historical events, such as the Apollo mission etc. The newest expansions, Civilization 3, 4 and 5 were each more successful than the last and although it’s turn-based, it contains plenty of battle, interactive simulation and interesting ideas about history. It’s considered by most gamers’ communities to be one of the best civil war games out there, and its first expansion (Civilization 2) definitely propelled it to the top of consumer preferences. The Civilization game was initially designed for DOS in 1991 by Sid Meier, and it’s a turn-based strategy game about building your own world and society. Considering that it’s also free to play (after you buy it initially, of course) but not as simplistic and repetitive as a browser game, we’d say that the Civilization game has just become our favorite past time, in its latest version, number 5. It’s not as advanced as a MMORPG in terms of how immersed in its specific universe you can become, but it’s definitely the next best thing after one of those. The Civilization game is one of the best choices of strategy games for your PC or Mac (it also works on Xbox or PS3), requiring fairly little computer resources to run and being highly rewarding in terms of storyline and world feel. Maybe you feel them more in the morning, perhaps straight after your lunch! My little boy seemed to come to life just as I lay down to sleep each night! When you start to feel your baby move, you will likely begin to notice a pattern which is individual to them. If you haven’t felt anything by 22 weeks, don’t panic! Just give your doctor or midwife a call so they can put your mind at rest. Second-time moms are likely to feel their baby a little sooner than first-time moms. You can expect to start feeling you baby move anytime from about 16 to 22 weeks. Kickscount, the National Health Service and Babycentre all agree that, rather than counting kicks, pregnant mommies should focus on what movement is normal for their baby. However, Madeformums points out that this is really pretty outdated advice now. (Note ‘movements.’ These could be rolling, kicking or swishing but do not include hiccups). The best way for a pregnant momma to monitor if all is well with baby is by keeping a track of their movements.Īdvice on this differs depending on the organization you listen to.īoth and The American Pregnancy Association cite The American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) as suggesting that moms-to-be count kicks from their third trimester and that most babies will usually make ten movements in two hours. So if not a doppler, what should I be using? It’s always best to be assessed by a qualified professional. Let’s put it this way: if you thought someone was having a stroke, you would not delay calling an ambulance simply because you could still feel their pulse! Misunderstanding what we hear on at-home dopplers could delay our visit to the hospital which could have devastating consequences. Trained midwives and doctors will know what the heartbeat of your baby should be sounding like depending on their current gestational age. The sad truth is that this may not be the case. If you use a doppler and find your baby’s heartbeat, you’re likely to think that everything is perfectly fine. So, just why is this really not a good idea? So why should I steer clear?ĭespite being intended for use by medical professionals, there has been a rise in products targeted for home use. If your doctor or midwife is using the fetal heart monitor, there is no cause for concern at all. The Doppler is then placed on top of the clear gel as the monitor is moved around to find the heartbeat. This gel acts as a coupling agent and helps reduce the static sound when listening to your little one. The health professional will then squirt a cold jelly-like gel onto your tummy. (Don’t make the mistake of wearing a dress like I did, or you’ll have to lie back with your undies on display! Not that I really cared by 35 weeks pregnant and in 80-degree heat!) You’ll also most likely need to unzip and pull down your jeans a little too. You won’t need to undress, but you’ll have to pull up your top to around chest level. When your midwife or doctor uses a doppler, you’ll be asked to lie on the bed or couch. Since they’re electronic, this means that everyone in the room (mom included!) gets a listen, whereas fetal stethoscopes only allowed the doctor or midwife to hear what was going on in there! How are they used? They use sound waves to listen to your baby’s heartbeat. Since the late 1950s, these handheld devices have been used to allow us to listen to babies’ heartbeats inside the womb. You may also have heard them referred to as a doppler or a baby heartbeat monitor. So if a fetal heart monitor can provide such joy and reassurance, why is it so important to leave them to the professionals? What are fetal heart monitors? The first time you hear your baby’s heartbeat is a magical moment! I could just picture that little bundle of life that was growing inside me, and I couldn’t wait to meet him!
