Since these products typically have strict drying times, there won’t be any leeway to run to the store for another kit should one run out mid-refinishing. Paying attention to the coverage the product offers is key to achieving good results. Most refinishers dry to a high-gloss smooth texture that mimics porcelain however, some have a sand additive that gives the finish a slightly rough, nonslip texture. Some kits even include tinting dyes that allow the user to match the refinisher to the existing tub if it’s for a repair, or create a color of their choice if it’s a total refinish job. Many refinishers are tintable, allowing the user to change the color by adding acrylic paint.
